Alghero

Alghero is a commune of about 50.000 inhabitants located in the district of Sassari in Sardinia Italy.
Posted in North-Western Sardinia, the latter has always been considered as one of the most stunning and famous seaside resorts of the island.
It owes undoubtedly its reputation not only to its historical past as a Catalan colony in the early 16th century (whose culture is firmly anchored in the inhabitants habits and customs), but also to the exceptional charm of its surroundings (protected area since 1999); with its sublime beaches of crystalline water and fine sand (Maria Pia, le bombarde along with the beaches of the bay of Porto Conte), generally limited by a thick pinewood simply allows you to let yourself go and be in perfect harmony with nature.
Moreover, Alghero’s various headlands delicately papered by the Mediterranean maquis grants a magical and enchanting touch to the region.
In fact, you won’t be able to leave the area without exploring the sumptuous cape known as Capo Caccia located 24km from Alghero. At first sight, the amazing landscape will tirelessly plunge you in an astonishing spectrum of colors between sky and sea, to then be transported by the bewitching and imposing cave devoted to the God of seas and oceans; “Le Grotte di Nettuno. »
Finally, all the beauty and subtlety of Alghero aren’t uniquely summarized to its beaches and its picturesque landscapes; it is also a question of discovering the many archeological sites such as the nuragic villages of Santa Imbenia and Palmavera or the necropolis of Santu Pedru and Anghelu Ruju.
Therefore, Alghero (Sardinia) isn’t just a simple seasonal adventure; it mostly is an overwhelming experience which will certainly remain engraved in your hearts and memories.

Welcome in Sardinia

An island with multiple facets

Sardinia is an attractive island immersed in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, located in the western part of Italy and south of Corsica. The region offers to its visitors an admirable natural and cultural inheritance.
You will primarily discover a whole range of balneal sites giving free access to swimming and diving, all this in perfect harmony with the mountainous terrain crossing the center of the territory.
In other words, the many beaches, limestone cliffs, valleys as well as the vegetation associated to the Sardinian landscape will transform your stay into an unforgettable experience. From a cultural point of view, the isolation of Sardinia over the Italian peninsula gave place to a strong Sardinian identity.
Actually, the language (which includes several dialects), the art expressed through paintings known as “Murales” of Orgosolo for example, the worldwide unique “Tenores” singing from the city of Nuoro, the dances such as the “ballu tundu”, all the treasures belonging to the Mediterranean cuisine graciously emphasized by the regional typical gastronomy, the traditional outfits/behaviors along with the curious archeological sites such as the “Nuraghe” architecture (dating from the second millennium B.C) popping out from time to time along the roads therefore portray and flaunt all the unknown wonders and compelling symbols linked to this beautiful island.
And last but not least, you’ll be able to appreciate the print left by various dominations throughout the centuries; the Phoenicians, the Greeks, the Romans, the italic people, the Moors and Spanish have thus strongly influenced the Sardinian architecture.
Hence, all this diversity, local wealth and distinct culture make of this area a highly exceptional destination either for your vacation or relaxation.
